Roadmap on Carcinogens released!

In their joint effort to reduce exposure to carcinogens at European workplaces, on 10 October, the EU Council-presidencies of 2016 (Netherlands) and 2018 (Austria), the European Commission, the European Agency for Safety and Health at work and the European social partners, ETUC and Business Europe proudly launched the website

The website acts as an important ‘hub’ for all activities related to the Roadmap on Carcinogens and aims to help companies in finding good practices. It facilitates the exchange of information about good practices and also promotes activities that will raise awareness on the importance of reducing exposure to cancer causing agents.

Earlier this year in Amsterdam, the initiators of the roadmap have committed themselves by signing a Covenant to promoting awareness raising as well as the exchange of good practices that prevent or reduce occupational exposure to carcinogenic substances. The Roadmap is a voluntary action scheme that provides for the exchange of good practices, at enhancing knowledge among businesses about exposure to carcinogens, and how this can be reduced effectively. The Roadmap is open for joining by member states, organisations, businesses, employers and workers, social partners, research organisations, OSH professionals, and other stakeholders. The six partners call upon everyone, organisations and companies to join.

The Roadmap needs your ideas, your best practices, and your network. In return, you, your organisation or business and workers can benefit from the knowledge and activities that are shared within the Roadmap community. If you are willing to dedicate a few moments of your time, leave your contact information and become part of the Roadmap community today!

Join in, get active and follow the Roadmap!

The Dutch Focal point will actively aid and assist the Roadmap. We will strive to increase the community throughout both the Netherlands and Europe!
